Job Description – HR Manager Korea

Directly reporting to the CEO Korea, with a dotted-line reporting to the Group HR Director, the HR Manager Korea will be responsible for leading and overseeing the entire HR and administration function for the Korean subsidiary.

 

Responsibilities:

  • HR Strategy: Implement HR strategies aligned with local business needs and global corporate guidelines.
  • Budget Control & Personnel Cost Analysis: Monitor HR budget performance and provide analysis of personnel-related costs.
  • Employment Relations & Compliance Management: Manage relations with employees and liaise with local authorities to ensure compliance with Korean labor laws.
  • People Development: Drive learning & development initiatives, succession planning, and career growth programs.
  • Evaluation System: Manage the operation and maintenance of performance evaluation systems.
  • Employee Experience & Culture: Drive employee engagement and wellness initiatives to improve overall employee experience / Cultivate and promote a values-driven, inclusive, and trust-based culture across all functions and locations.
  • HQ Communication: Maintain seamless communication with Headquarters in Italy; ensure alignment with global HR directives and reporting requirements.
  • Payroll: Oversee accurate and timely payroll processing.
  • Talent Acquisition / Recruiting: Oversee full-cycle recruitment to attract, select, and onboard top talent across all functions.
  • Performance Management & Total Reward: In collaboration with the HR team at Headquarters, lead performance review cycles; support managers in goal-setting, feedback, and evaluation processes / Manage compensation planning and incentive programs / Ensure local reward strategies align with HQ, maintaining competitiveness and regulatory compliance.
  • Leadership & Organizational Development: Build leadership capabilities and lead succession planning for key roles / Foster a culture of ongoing development and oversee talent reviews across the organization.
  • General Administration: Managing broader office administrative and general operational efficiency, depending on the organization's structure.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (minimum requirement).
  • At least 15 years of experience in Human Resources roles, holding positions of increasing responsibility with at least 5 years in a leadership or head-of-function role.
  • Solid background in the Retail industry.
  • Experienced and proactive HR professional with deep expertise across all core HR functions.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Strong ability to collaborate effectively with both local stakeholders and global Headquarters.
  • Fluent proficiency in English; additional language skills are a plus.
  • Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
